Rice, LT , Maine S. and R-B advance to semis

Shorthanded Brother Rice remained unbeaten; Lyons Township too. Maine South advanced and Riverside-Brookfield took an extra session to complete the Final 4 Monday at York's 36th Annual Jack Tosh Holiday Classic.
Brother Rice (9-0) defeated Downers Grove South 51-42 despite playing without its starting point guard and a starting forward.
Lyons Township (10-0) trailed Oswego (8-2) 45-29 with six minutes to go in the third quarter, but rebounded in a big way. LT outscored Oswego 30-3 to close out the quarter, and 50-14 for the rest of the game to win 79-59. A semifinal battle of unbeatens will take place at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Maine South (10-1) outscored South Elgin (9-2) 16-6 in the fourth quarter to earn a 47-38 victory.
Riverside-Brookfield (8-1) defeated the host Dukes 54-52 in overtime for a semifinal date against Maine South at 7:15 Tuesday night.
