Rock Island tops Robinson
Rock Island (6-2) defeated Robinson 58-52 Saturday at the Deron Williams Shootout at the Hall at Assembly Hall in Champaign.
The Rocks were led by 6-foot-2 junior G Chasson Randle, who scored 28 points and collected eight boards. Rock Island received additional support from junior guard Jordan Hawthorn, who scored 11.
Senior G Ben Jones led the Robinson (5-2) with 17 points and added eight boards. Robinson's Illinois-bound 7-foot C Meyers Leonard had 16 points for the Maroons.
